High
Availability & Clustering
Business
continuity can be accomplished via various hardware and software
architectures. Clustering of machines and software across those
machines can be accomplished by operating system software, application
server software and database software.
A high availability solution for Hewlett Packard servers is MC Service
Guard. This HP product configures two machines to serve as backup
of the other. If the primary machine fails, the secondary machine
will resume the workload on the primary machine.
Oracle 9iAS (application server) can be deployed in a farm of servers.
Two or more application servers will services customer requests.
If the workload gets heavy and overload the current server architecture,
additional machines can be added. High availability in the middle
tier is achieved because the workload of the single server on an
application server farm fails, other servers on the farm pick up
the load.
Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC) allows a database administrator
to perform database workload across multiple database server machines.
Therefore, high availability and scalability is achieved through
this single solution.
Inplexus can help assess your organization high availability needs,
recommend solutions for your environment and help deploy the solution
in your environment.
Consider Inplexus as a partner that can help your meet your high
availability/clustering goals for your computing environment.
